Here's a chance to see what goes into making a Slimline Series Pen in Amboyna Burl.

Slimline Series

The slimline pen and pencils are sleek, slim, and to the point, the perfect size to fit in a shirt pocket. Finishes include 24kt gold, satin gold, satin silver, silver, titanium, copper, black enamel, and gunmetal.

Materials range from domestic (North American) and exotic (worldwide) woods, to custom created acrylics, even Corian hard surface materials.

Pens are twist type pens and use cross style refills, available at your local office supply store or mass retailer. Pencils are click style, and use 7mm lead, also available at local office supply stores or mass retailers.

Please feel free to scroll down and look at some of the examples available, and remember, each and every option shown here can be mixed and matched to your preferences. The elegant slimline series, a pen for everyday.

Slimeline Pen - Soft Maple, Copper finish - $18

This sleek and smooth pen has beautiful contrast from the wood to the bright copper finish hardware. Slightly over sized through the barrel, this pen is light and fits wonderfully in even the smallest hands. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen - Blue Specked Corian, Gunmetal finish - $19

Corian is a hard surface material recently popular in kitchens and baths as a low cost, environmentally friendly alternative to natural stone. The Corian blanks used are turned and finished to a high gloss, glass smooth finish. The blue, white and black colors in the Corian contrast nicely with the gunmetal finish hardware. This pen is slightly heavier than most woods, giving it a good weighty feel in your hand. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen - Red Palm, Satin Gold Finish - $18

Deep red and orange streaks set within the warm brown natural colors of the wood present themselves in a striking manner in this pen. The Satin Gold hardware sets nicely with the red palm hardwood. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen - Mesquite, Copper Finish - $18

Cut, dried and turned in the Texas Panhandle, this native wood is very dense and often a favorite for outdoor grilling, as it adds a wonderful taste to foods cooked over the smoldering coals. The copper finish of the band, clip, and tip compliment the color of the wood nicely. This is a small/medium pen.

Slimline Pen - Laminated Frio River Valley Walnut, Gunmetal Finish - $24

Over 30 ultra thin strips of Frio River Valley Walnut went into the barrel of this pen. Each piece was carefully cut, and then all were laminated together to form the body. The colors vary greatly, which is only made more interesting by the fact that all strips came from the same tree. This pen has an upper barrel slightly longer than a standard slimline, making it easier to hold for larger hands. The gunmetal finish hardware helps to highlight the varying colors within the wood. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen - Yellowheart, Gunmetal Finish - $18

The deep, warm colors of the Yellowheart wood in this pen invites touch like no other. The slightly over-sized barrels aid even the largest hands in writing with this fine instrument. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen & Pencil Set - Rosewood, Black Enamel, - $35

Various species of Rosewood are found on nearly every continent. Although it may seem to be a common wood, it is in fact very rare in some instances (Brazilian Rosewood is under strict harvest control due to being nearly extinct, as it is highly prized for it's tonal quality in instrument construction). The lower barrels on this set are slightly over-sized, and taper nicely towards the tip, and center band. The black-enamel finish offsets the warm colors in the Rosewood, and is also guaranteed for life. This pen/pencil is a small writing instrument.

Slimline Pen - Green Specked Corian, Chrome Finish - $19

Corian is a hard surface material recently popular in kitchens and baths as a low cost, environmentally friendly alternative to natural stone. The Corian blanks used are turned and finished to a high gloss, glass smooth finish. The deep green color lightly specked with an offset white blend beautifully with the chrome hardware. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen - Burnt Orange Specked Corian, 24kt Gold - $19

Corian is a hard surface material recently popular in kitchens and baths as a low cost, environmentally friendly alternative to natural stone. The Corian blanks used are turned and finished to a high gloss, glass smooth finish. The burnt orange Corian color stands out starkly against the blue and offwhite specks set within. Both come together very nicely with the 24kt Gold hardware. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen - Blue and White Corian, Satin Silver Finish - $19

Corian is a hard surface material recently popular in kitchens and baths as a low cost, environmentally friendly alternative to natural stone. The Corian blanks used are turned and finished to a high gloss, glass smooth finish. Two different colors of Corian come together with the Satin Silver hardware to form a smooth, industrial color theme in this pen. The lower barrel is slightly oversized for those who want something bigger than a standard slimline. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen - Purpleheart, Satin Gold - $18

Purpleheart is a wood that varies from a deep rich purple, to an almost red/orange with purple undertones. This particular example leans more towards the red end of the scale, which is nicely complimented by the satin gold hardware. This pen has little to no taper, keeping it sleek and slim all the way down it's body. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pencil - Tulipwood, Black Enamel Finish - $18

Tulipwood is an incredibly beautiful wood with a deep pink and red/orange grain. This pen has a slightly enlarged barrel near the center band, which tapers evenly all the way to the black enamel tip, setting nicely in the crook of your hand when you write with it. This is a small pen.

Slimline Pen & Pencil - Milante and Indian Rosewood, Satin Silver Finish - $35

Alternating Milante and Indian Rosewood, this pen and pencil set have a very classic, elegant look to them with the Satin Silver hardware. All barrels are turned down to a straight, minimalist profile, making them easy to carry, present, and most importantly, write with. This Pen/Pencil is small.

Comfort Series

The Comfort Series is based on the Slimline Series, but is slightly larger, and is fitted with a rubber comfort grip at the tip, making them easier to hold, as well as easier on your fingers for those who write for extended periods of time. The full barrel on the top allows for a large surface to showcase the material. The Comfort Series Pens use a cross style refill, available at your local office supply store, or most mass retail stores. The Comfort Series allows you to show your style, while still maintaining a high level of usability.

Comfort Pen - Red & Black Laminated Dymondwood, Chrome Finish - $20

Show Your style with this dyed and laminated Comfort Series pen. The red and black layers alternate and create a striking image couple with the Chrome finish. This pen features the Comfort rubber grip near the tip, and is a small/medium pen.

Comfort Pen - Huisacce, Gunmetal Finish - $20

Huisacce is a dense, desert climate bush found in the South Central U.S. Often regarded as a nuisance plant, it grows along right-of-ways, and in thick underbrush areas. The dark portions of grain can vary from a deep brown/yellow, to a solid forest green. The more sun the wood is exposed to, the darker it will become, so you can choose your color by the amount of time you limit, or expose your pen to. This pen features the Comfort rubber grip near the tip, and is a small/medium pen.

Comfort Pen - Mesquite, Gunmetal Finish - $20

Crafted from Mesquite, this Comfort series pen has a piece of the South Central US known to anyone who has ever cooked on a grill. Prized for the flavor it can infuse foods with, Mesquite grows in near desert climates, and as such is a very dense wood. Large pieces are very hard to come buy, and are highly prized by woodworkers. This pen features the Comfort rubber grip near the tip, and is a small/medium pen.

Saturn Series

The Saturn Series Pens are a little larger in diameter than the Slimline Series, making them a little heavier in the hand, and giving more surface area of material to enjoy. The Saturn's Center band is ribbed, and the hardware is available in either Chrome, or 24kt Gold. The Saturn is a classic, elegant writing instrument you can carry with style and confidence. The Saturn Series Pens use a cross style refill, available at your local office supply store, or often any national mass retail store.

Saturn Pen - Desert Ironwood, 24kt Gold Finish - $20

Desert Ironwood is a wood so dense it is often very difficult, even impossible to work with standard woodworking tools. It must be tooled and/or turned with extreme care, and oft sharpened tools. Once finished, it will carry an almost mirror-like finish to it, while possessing a depth noth often seen in woods. The colors of the wood flow very nicely with the 24kt gold Hardware. This is a medium/small pen.

Saturn Pens - Acrylic Series, Chrome Finish - $21

These acrylic Saturn's can be made out of a nearly endless combination of colors. This particular series is dedicated to local school colors, and geared towards sports fans, educators, administrators, students, and parents alike. Acrylics can be completely opaque, or marbled with translucent colors to really catch the eyes. Special requests are welcome (along with samples of desired colors) but cost $1 more per pen. This is a medium/small pen.

Bullet Series

Small, elegant, and easily stored in purses or bags, the Bullet Series pen is design with portability in mind, while still showcasing the striking grain patterns and colors available in the woods. Shown above in both Two-Tone African Blackwood (right), and Mesquite (left), both carry extreme color contrasts within the wood, and blend beautifully with the copper hardware. Bullet Series pens us a miny-style refil, sometimes available at your local office supply store, or always available upon request by order. These are short, but large diameter pens.

Designer "Euro" Series

"Big Ben" Cigar Series

Classic Series

The Classic, or American Series Fountain and Ballpoint Pens are exactly as they are named, Classics, modeled after the 1920's Parker design. The ballpoint pens come in either a standard ballpoint, or a gel roller. The fountain pens feature a premium Iridium German fountain pen nib. The fountains use standards fountains disposable refills, or are available with an optional refillable reservoir. The caps on all screw onto both the cap end, as well as 'post' on the back. Available in either Satin Nickel, 24kt plated Gold, Black enamel, and Titanium Nitride. The Classic is an extraordinary choice for those seeking a distinguished, reliable writing instrument.

Classic Fountain - Zebrawood, Satin Nickel - $50

Zebrawood has a beautiful contrasting grain pattern of dark black and light brown. Lighter weight than most of the classic series, this fountain pen writes very comfortably, and strikes a confident image. This is a medium pen.

Classic Gel Roller - Leopardwood, 24kt Gold - $45

Leopardwood is so named for the Leopard like pattern the grain displays. Once turned, the 'leopard spots' almost resemble snake scales. This pen exhibits wonderful tricks under light, with a near holographic appearance. The 24kt gold and black hardware offset the leopardwood well. This is a medium pen.

Classic Fountain Pen - Laminated Corian, 24kt Gold - $60

Over a dozen pieces of Corian went into the construction of this pen. Starting with four blanks, they were glued, cut, rotated, reglued, recut and more to acheive the desired pattern. Curves, straight lines, and angles flow together in a elegant design. This pen will really stand out, but still remains understated enough to maintain a level of dignity. The postable cap makes usability high, while preserving the sophistication of a fountain pen. This is a medium pen.

Classic Gel Roller - Trustone Marble & Turquise, 24kt Gold - $50

Trustone is a composite material made from finely ground stone impregnated with resin resulting in an 85% stone material crafted to be indistinguishable from the original stone. This pen consists of two different Trustone materials laminated together for an even more striking effect. The stone adds weight to the already heavy mass of the Classic style pen, resulting in a very weighty pen, great for either a light, or heavy hand. This is a small/medium pen.

Classic Gel Roller - Black and White Ebony, 24kt Gold - $45

Shaped to stand out from the crowd, this classic gel roller writes as wonderfully as it looks. The black and white ebony, native to Africa, blend beautifully in with the 24kt Gold plated, black accented hardware. This is a medium/large pen.

Classic Gel Roller - Ash and Walnut Artwood, 24kt Gold - $50

The artwood pens stand out from the rest by their layed, inlaid appearances. This particular pen was crafted by cutting a blank of ash in the desired pattern, and then carefully inlaying a thin strip of walnut before reassembly. The results are the stark contrast and artistic curves that make for one of my personal favorites. The gel roller, as always, writes wonderfully and refills are available at local office supply as well as some mass retailers. This is a small/medium pen.

Classic Fountain Pen - American Holly, 24kt Gold - $50

Holly is highly prized for it's nearly perfect white appearance. This color combined with the warmth of real wood makes for an extremely elegant writing instrument. Sleek and to the point, this Classic Fountain is sure to fit the bill for those looking to be distinguished. This is a small/medium pen.

Classic Gel Roller - Copper and Zebrawood, Black Enamel - $65

Made by wrapping, brazing, and then turning real copper wire around a tube, this pen is definately a conversation piece. The copper is turned off, and replaced by a blank of zebrawood on the nib end in order to add a more earthy feel to the end. This is a very heavy pen, suitable only for someone who has a heavy hand. Light touches will not find this pen easy to write with, especially if the cap is posted. For those who have the right touch, the is no replacement for a pen like this one. This is a medium pen.

Olympian Elite Series

The Olympian Elite series fountain and gel roller pens are crafted with excellence in mind. These pens are robust and fit wonderfully in even the largest of hands. The fountain and gel roller encourage a lighter touch resulting in more control. These pens have a twist off cap, threaded to fit, and are post-able with a friction fit. The center bands and end bands are crafted with a geometric design reminiscent of Aztec or other Central American art forms. Available in both Rhodium and Gold Titanium platings, these pens stand out as quality and serve to make a statement.

The fountain pens use either disposable ink cartridges available at your local office supply store, or refillable cartridges, available for an extra $2 on request. The gel roller pens use a standard gel refill available at office supply stores, and some mass retailers.

Any fountain may be converted to a gel roller, or vice-versa as per your request. Gel rollers subtract $5 from fountain costs, and fountains add $5 to gel roller costs. These are large pens.

Olympian Elite Fountain Pen - Purpleheart, Rhodium - $50

Purpleheart is a flowering tree native to Central and South America. It is unique in that it's heartwood turns from brown, to deep purple after being exposed to UV light. The wood darkens more over time if exposed to more sunlight, only adding to the richness and depth of beauty. A slight taper at each end of the wood allows for slightly more of the material to show, but does not inhibit the holdability of the pen. This is a large pen.

Olympian Elite Fountain Pen - Bethleham Olivewood, Rhodium - $52

Olive wood trees from the ancient city of Bethlehem, Israel (also known as Roman trees) have been bearing fruit since the time of the Romans. Many religious, historical, and artistic articles are made from this beautiful wood. The striking figure sets magnificently against the stark Rhodium and black of the hardware. A popular material for pastors or minsiters, Bethleham olivewood makes for one of my personal favorite natural materials available. This is a large pen.

Olympian Elite Gell Roller Pen - Camphor Burl, Gold Titanium - $45

Camphor Laurel is a large evergreen tree found in Asia. The naturally occuring chemicals in Camhpro Laurel are used for everything from bug repellants, to medicines, to candy flavoring. A burl is essentially a deformed growth of the grain in a tree. It may form in the roots, lower trunk, or higher in a slit or crotch. The results are the striking colors and grain patterns you see in this instrument. Although this pen has been sealed and finished, you can still catch a faint hint of the odor so common to older generations. This is a large pen.

Olympian Elite Fountain Pen - White Marble, Rhodium - $55

Trustone is a synthetic stone, made from 85% real stone. It is ground into a fine powder and impregnated with resin to result in a workable form of the original stone. The finished product is indistinguishable from the natural stone it is made of. This white marble stands out and feels weighty and cold as stone. The balance of the pen as a result is extraordinary and ends with a wonderful feel for a light hand. The Rhodium plating continues the monochromatic look of this instrument with striking results. This is a large pen.

Olympian Elite Gell roller Pen - Crushed Yellow Acrylic, Rhodium - $47

Canary yellow acrylic jumps from this pen and stands out from the crowd. The light acrylic and featherweight nature of the Olympian pens comine for an extremely light pen for it's size. Turned and sanded through 12,000, the acrylic shines with a remarkable depth, accented with the Rhodium plated hardware. This is a large pen.

Olympian Elite Fountain Pen - Dakota Burl, Gold Titanium - $50

Dakota burl is a synthetic blank made from crushed and laminated sunflower seed shells. Each blank is made of thousands of fragments of shell, pressed and adhered to result in the cascade of color and lines seen in this pen, set nicely against the Gold Titanium hardware. This is a large pen.

Opympian Elite Gel Roller - Huisacce, Rhodium - $45

Huisacce? Huisacce is a desert climate shrub/bush known to grow in central Texas, as well as New Mexica and Arizona. Knarled and twisty, it is very hard to find a usable piece of wood from even the largest of bushes, but when found, it results in the striking grain patterns and contrast seen above. This wood shares characteristics with a few other woods, in that UV rays change the color of the wood, in this case from brown, to deep green. A truly unique pen that always brings surprises upon discovery of the nature of the material. This is a large pen.

Antler Series

The Antler series consists of a wide assortment of styles, all carefully crafted from genuine Mule Deer or Whitetail antlers. Each pen is unique and will never be duplicated exactly, although similar styles may be made. Some pens are finished with a high polish, while others are infused with metal dust (copper, platinum, bronze, etc.) to give a truly one-of-a-kind look to the pen. Our antlers are mostly sheds gathered by friends and family members after each season in the Texas hill country and North-eastern Oklahoma. Much effort is made to preserve the natural beauty and character inherent in antler.

Tine Classic - $85

Made from a single tine of an antler set, this fountain pen is formed mostly by hand. The nature of the assembly of this pen prevents traditional turning methods, so it is drilled , shaped, and assembled by hand. The curve of the antler fits wonderfully for both right handed and left handed writers, simply by resetting the nib to a more comfortable position. This pen uses only disposable ink cartridges, available at your local office supply store, as it does not have the depth necessary for a refillable cartridge. This is a medium/large pen, and it longer than a standard fountain pen.

Antler Cartridge Pens - $40

Assembled with a real .30 caliber shell casing, these pens are the perfect accessory for the sportsman. 30-30, .308, or 30-06 shells are drilled and crafted to be used in these pens with stunning results. A copper finish tip, clip and cap add effect to resemble a real bullet. Each pen is topped with a beautifully turned antler to finish off the ultimate expression for a sportsman or hunter. These are a twist pens, and use a cross style refill.

Big Ben Pen - Antler, Chrome Finish - $35

Turned from a 2 yr old shed, this Big Ben Cigar Pen fills even the biggest hands while displaying the clear beauty of Oklahoma Whitetail antler. This is a twist pen that uses parker style refills, available at your local office supply store, and some mass retailers. This is a medium/large pen.

Classic Fountain Pen - Antler, Satin Silver Finish - $55

The large bulbs on this pen may look different, but their function is unbelievable. They rest perfectly in a medium or large hand and showcase the natural grained pattern of the antler they were turned from. A smooth and polished finish adds wonderful depth to the finished instrument. This is a medium/large pen, and it uses standard disposable ink cartridges, or an optional refillable ink cartridge available upon request for an additional $2.

Olympian Elite Fountain Pen - Antler, Gold Platinum - $55

Once again showcasing the natural beauty of Oklahoma Whitetail antler, this Olympian Elite is slightly larger and lighter than the classic fountain, making for a different feel and balance when writing. This is a large pen, and it uses standard disposable ink cartridges, or an optional refillable ink cartridge available upon request for an additional $2.

Slimline Pen - Antler infused w/copper, Copper Finish - $25

As antler grows beyond a certain size, the inner portions become porous, and when turned to a certain size, those pores become visible. After rough turning, these blanks were carefully filled with fine copper dust and then sealed with epoxy. Finally sanded, polished, and finished to a high gloss, this is a truly unique writing instrument with a wonderfully weighted feel. This is a small pen, and it uses standard cross style refills.

Slimline Pencil - Antler, Satin Silver Finish - $25

With slightly oversized barrels, this pen has a different feel than standard slimlines, but still fits the hand well. The antler is turned to a larger size, and tapered at the ends to give a smooth and uniform finish. This is a small pencil, and it uses standard 7mm lead.

Tine Jr. Statesman Fountain w/1867 3 cent Nickel - $175

This fountain pen is made similarly to the Tine Classic, but with some distinctions that really set this pen apart. It starts with a single tine from a set of antlers. The tine is cut to size and then drilled by hand. After step drilling to progressively smaller sizes to account for the taper of the tine, the components for the fountain are assembled and inserted. For the cap, the remainder of the tine is cut and carefully hand carved to maintain as much of the natural shape of the antler as possible. At this point, both cap and body are sanded and polished before final assembly. Once the center band and clip have been secured in place, the 1867 3-cent Nickel is carefully placed as the endcap for the final touch.

A truly distinctive pen that is sure to stand out and make a statement either in a collection, or as an everyday user. These pens can be made with many different coins (18mm diameter or smaller), including all 3-cent nickels from 1851-1889, as well as all dimes 1837-present. These pens are made to order on customer specifications for the included coins, and prices fluctuate as per the value of the chosen coin. Customers coins may be used upon request for a slight discount. Please call or email with any questions regarding these pens.
